Leaked Files Reveal Russia’s Chilling War Strategy in Action
Ex-Russian General Exposes Putin’s Strategic Plans
Since Russia launched its full-scale military invasion in February 2022, most of the fighting has taken place on Ukrainian soil.
The war in Ukraine has had a global impact.
The impact of the war stretches far beyond Ukraine’s borders. As major global powers, including China, North Korea, the European Union, and the United States, deepen their involvement, the conflict’s trajectory becomes increasingly uncertain.
Leaked Files Reveal Details of Putin’s Strategic Plans
The world now watches nervously, facing the chilling question no one wants to answer: if Moscow expands the war westward, which cities would be targeted first?
‘Big colossal war’
You may not be familiar with Russian lawmaker Andrey Gurulyov. Still, the retired general—now a deputy in the Russian legislature—warns that Russia is preparing for a “big colossal war”.
If a new world war were to break out…
On July 24, 2024, Gurulyov appeared on the state-run channel Russia-1 to discuss what he claimed would be Putin’s targets if a new World War were to occur.
The Situation is Heightening
Sky News reported that Gurulyov, a State Duma deputy and member of the legislature’s defence committee, suggested that this global conflict could arise from an escalation of the blockade on Kaliningrad.
A Slice of Russia in the Baltic
Kaliningrad is a Russian port enclave nestled in the Baltic, sandwiched between NATO members Poland and Lithuania, making communication and supply routes particularly challenging.
Suwałki Corridor
Experts speculated that Russia might attempt to establish a land link—known as the Suvalkovsky Corridor—connecting Kaliningrad to the mainland.
Russian forces and NATO troops
According to The Sun, the retired general warned that such a move could trap Russian forces between enemy armies but insisted action would be necessary if NATO were to blockade Kaliningrad.
Star Wars
Gurulyov said the logical first step would be to disable the enemy’s satellite network.
“’We would see them all as NATO’”
According to Gurulyov, “the first logical step would be disabling the enemy’s satellite system.”
Anti-anti-missile attack
Next, Gurulyov added, the enemy’s anti-missile system must be countered “everywhere and 100%.”
London is the Target
Gurulyov told Russia-1 reporters, “We certainly wouldn’t start with Paris, Warsaw or Berlin. The first hit would be London. It’s crystal clear that the threat to the world comes from the Anglo-Saxons.”
Dismantling Europe
The former military officer declared, “As part of the operation to destroy critically important sites, Western Europe will be cut off from power supplies and immobilised.” The Sun notes that, like many Russian hardliners, Gurulyov believes the European Union is too soft to engage in an actual war.
America Joins
Gurulyov speculated on how the United States would sustain Europe in a war without food or power and how long Washington, D.C. could avoid being drawn into the conflict.
Assembly May Be Required
“This is the rough plan,” Gurulyov declared, adding, “I deliberately leave out certain moments because they are not to be discussed on TV.”
Russia’s Hit List
On another TV programme, the retired general listed the countries Russia could potentially confront next: Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania.
Armchair General?
It’s worth noting that while Gurulyov serves as a deputy in the State Duma (pictured) and sits on the legislature’s defence committee, The Daily Mail points out he is no longer an active military officer. His statements should be viewed with caution.
Plenty of questions remain.
However, his ties to President Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin inner circle have led to US sanctions, leaving plenty of room to question how much Gurulyov truly knows—and how much he wants the world to believe.
