NATO Jets Scramble in Response to New Russian Offensive by Putin
Amid Putin’s latest offensive in Ukraine, NATO aircraft take to the skies.
The move comes after at least four people, including a 12-year-old girl, were killed in the attack, with two victims reported at a Kyiv cardiology institute that was hit in the blitz.
Putin deployed Tu-95MS ‘Bear’ strategic bombers from an Arctic air base to unleash devastation across Ukraine, with Kyiv bearing the brunt of the attack. “The body of a female, initially believed to be a 12-year-old girl, was found in the rubble of the attack in the Solomianskyi district,” Kyiv’s top military official, Timur Tkachenko, confirmed.
A shocking video showed a drone striking a shopping centre in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region, detonating on impact. At least 27 were hurt in Kyiv.
Six attacks on Zaporizhzhia left at least 21 injured, including two children, in Putin’s latest offensive.
President Zelensky reported that Russia’s 12-hour assault involved 500 drones and 40 missiles, including the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal.
The Ukraine assault forced Poland to deploy both national and NATO fighters close to the border as a safety measure. “Due to the activity of long-range Russian air forces conducting strikes on Ukrainian territory, Polish and allied air forces have begun operating in our airspace,” said a statement.
“The Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces has activated the forces and resources at his disposal. Duty fighter pairs have been scrambled, and ground-based air defence and radar reconnaissance systems have reached the highest levels of alert.
“These actions are preventative in nature and aimed at securing airspace and protecting citizens, especially in areas adjacent to the threatened areas.” Civilians were targeted, Ukraine’s emergency service said, despite Russian foreign minister Lavrov claiming they never do so the day before.
“At night, the Russians once again shelled the capital. Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged in the Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts.”
Early on Sunday, a Russian attack tore through a five-storey building. A fire broke out on the 3rd and 4th floors with partial destruction.
“The body of a 12-year-old girl was rescued from the rubble. Three people were saved; one person was injured. Firefighters are working on site,” as confirmed by the emergency service.
Russian forces carried out strikes across Ukraine, hitting a cardiology institute, a wine factory, and a children’s education centre; two died, and 50 workers in Odesa’s wine plant were evacuated.
Vitali Klitschko, mayor of Kyiv, confirmed. “The fire in the state medical institution building has been extinguished. Rescuers found the bodies of two deceased individuals there. Five people were saved.”
Two Kinzhal missiles reportedly hit hardened storage facilities for Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets at Starokostiantyniv airbase, Russian sources claim.
