I Tried Halara So You Don’t Have To – Is Halara a Scam?
After being constantly bombarded with adverts all over my socials for the clothing brand Halara, I’ve caved and decided to review them as an ACTUALLY curvy size 16 UK.
As with every brand review I do [unless I’ve stated otherwise], this is 100% not sponsored, and I’ve bought everything with my own money! I’m actually super excited to review these supposed crazy stretchy leggings and see if the ads live up to the hype! Keep reading for my brutally honest Halara review!

This review is part of my new series reviewing viral and TikTok/Instagram famous brands so if you have a brand you want diving into OR you ARE a brand that wants reviewing, you can contact me here.
I Tried Halara So You Don’t Have To As a Curvy Woman
First Website Impressions
First impressions of the website – Are there any curvy models here?! I know this is an athleisure clothing brand but all these ladies are SUPER toned and nothing like my body type so that’s worrying straight off the bat. That’s a pretty common theme with fast fashion brands but I do expect a bit more when a brand is charging £39.95 for a pair of trousers.
I will give credit where credit is due though, Halara do use a diverse range of models in terms of race and skin colour which is wonderful to see. They don’t shy away from featuring beautiful black and brown models in all their ads too, but they are all mainly super skinny and toned.
I know there’s a lot of fatphobia in the fast fashion industry but when I have to scroll down 4 pages to get to a plus size model – it worries me a bit y’know?
It does also seem like the plus size range is a wee bit pricier than the standard sizes. Although, credit to Halara, they go from an XS to a 3X – so hopefully something fits!
When I went through the checkout process, it all seems pretty secure and I didn’t have an issue handing out my information to them so that’s all cool.
I did also check out their TrustPilot and with nearly 90,000 reviews they’ve averaged at a 4.2 – so all seems well. No scam alarm bells are ringing just yet!
First Impression When Trying On
I ended up ordering 3 items to try:
- Mid Rise Button Zipper Side Pocket Corduroy Casual Pants
- HalaraMagic™ Mid Rise Multiple Pockets Straight Leg Stretchy Knit Casual Cargo Jeans
- High Waisted Crossover Flare Yoga Leggings
I only ordered trousers/leggings on this order as I’m pretty average up top and every advert I’ve been shown has been about their crazy comfortable trouser selection!
I’ll start by saying each item I ordered has the same buttery feel to it. The material feels soft and like a comforting hug – so they’ve immediately got me interested and praying they go past my thighs!
For reference, I ordered everything in the same size. I went for a size 16 in everything or a size 16-18 whichever the option was as it varies from item to item.
Halara Corduroy Pants Review Mid Rise

As I said earlier, these are such a buttery material and feel so nice to touch. I was a bit worried about the sizing as they are mid rise and ya girls got a belly but GIRL I had nothing to worry about! They were everything I was hoping they’d be. Slightly looser on the waist and lower legs to give that comfy corduroy feel. I don’t know if I’m a fan of the mid rise pant with a belly myself and they were tighter on my thighs. Still super comfy and I’d be interested in trying the next size up with a belt to see if that gave me more of the Pinterest book girly vibe I was after.
Halara Cargo Jeans Honest Review

Again, soft buttery material and the same size as before. These are also a mid rise which, as I said, I don’t know if I’m super comfortable with myself just due to my own body type [we’re all different!] but oh em gee – the comfort! I was pretty confident I’d fall in love with these because they basically look like comfy sweatpants. The Halara Magic material is stretchy AF and like I get the hype around these. Would I prefer them to be high-waisted? Yes. Have I scoured their website to see if they have a high-waisted option? No. My perfect pair of sweatpants Halara jeans might be out there and I don’t even know it. But one thing I will say – purchase these ASAP Rocky!
Halara Cross Over High Waisted Yoga Leggings Review

These babies have the same buttery material [are you bored of me saying that yet?] and are slightly flared at the bottom. They have a really thick comfy waistband and come up nice and high on this short gal. They were the cheapest item at £24.95 [on sale from £34.95] but for me – that’s pricey for a pair of yoga pants/leggings. My favorite pair are from the TikTok shop and were like £8? So paying nearly £25 of the good British pounds doesn’t sit right with me. I want them to transform my body for that price and feel like I’ve got pure goose feathers lining my skin – and naturally they didn’t live up to those standards.
Are they nice? Yeah. Are they comfy? Sure. Would I recommend spending that amount of money on a pair of leggings or yoga pants that are part of a fast fashion brand and were probably made in the same factory as the cheapies? No. Sorry Halara, this pair doesn’t get my approval and it’s purely the price point.
Halara Clothing Adds Fat Tax!
So far I’ve been pretty impressed. It’s rare that as a curvy woman I can actually buy clothes and have them fit straight away without returning for a larger size. But when I checked out the plus size listings I was horrified! The yoga pants are £39.95! That’s a £5 increase AND they’re not on sale like their standard counterpart.
To me, that just screams fatphobic. Halara is adding an additional charge to the larger sizes and not running them on the same sale as the ”normal” sizes. Not cool Halara, not cool.
I have a pretty set zero tolerance approach to brands that think it’s okay to put their larger sizes up for a higher price, especially when their prices are already on the higher side. Fix it up Halara.
Halara’s Return Policy is Weird
So I haven’t had to return anything from my order BUT I have looked into the return policy for you guys and it seems pretty sketchy and the TrustPilot reviews back this up too.
Halara’s customer service is pretty non-existent anyway but in order to get your return approved you need to email their customer service, fill in a form they send you and await their response.
So, in theory, Halara could just outright refuse to accept your return – eek.
Is Halara a Scam? Honest Halara Review
So, is Halara a scam or are they legit? Well, Halara is legit as a company. They do send their orders correctly as far as I have experienced and their clothing is pretty spot on to matching the images. They’re not like AliExpress where nothing ever matches the photos and a completely different product turns up.
The sizing for me has been pretty spot on but I can’t vouch for some of the larger plus sizes which there may be issues with as Halara are most definitely not using models that are THAT plus size. Their inclusivity is quite impressive but still low for the sizings and representation. So, no they’re not a scam.
But is Halara worth the money?
Ehhh, I’m not so sure. I do feel like you can get better clothing for less with different stores. Halara’s price point is pretty high for a fast fashion company. The quality is pretty good and if you’re wanting something a little bit different to the normal then yeah, Halara is worth the money.
I wish Halara would use more inclusive models in their millions of ads though.
Share this with anyone who is thinking about buying from Halara!
