There’s no denying that Netflix has amassed a huge number of movies. There’s something for everyone, regardless of their taste. Some have received negative feedback and criticism, but despite this, they are still some of our favorites. Today we’re sharing five Netflix movies that everyone hated but we loved! Though most people had negative things to say, we think these films are gems, full of story, wonderful characters, and a captivating plot. They have all the makings of a terrific film! So, get your popcorn and get ready to fall in love with these five Netflix films, because we’re sure we’ll change your mind about them.

1. Spenser Confidential: 2020
Mark Wahlberg lands on Netflix for the first time with Spenser Confidential. It’s witty, action-packed, and, in some moments, hilarious. Mark Wahlberg stars as the main character of Spenser, who has just been released from prison after serving time for beating up a corrupt police officer. He’s an ex-cop looking for justice while trying to unravel the truth behind the deaths of two other police officers.
Spenser is looking for justice while unraveling a murder conspiracy. Throughout the movie, he finds dirty police officers, drug deals, and corruption that he never imagined. Spenser Confidential is packed with humor, twists, turns, action, and suspense. Mark Wahlberg is in a race against time as he works with his partner to take apart the conspiracy and find the culprit. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 36%, many critics found it predictable, but we found it humorous, slightly thrilling, and wildly entertaining!

2. The Do-Over (2016)
The Do-Over focuses on two friends who are bored with their mundane lives and decide to fake their own deaths to start over with their identities. However, when the identities they assume turn out to be those of dangerous criminals, the two friends are in for a surprise. Adam Sandler and David Spade have humorous on-screen charisma that will draw you into the film and make you want to keep watching.
The Do-Over has a 9% Rotten Tomatoes score, with critics saying that the plot is predictable and unrealistic, and the cast is not performing at their best. However, Sandler and Spade are funny, and even though the plot is unrealistic, it’s a highly entertaining movie that will leave you laughing until you cry!

3. Me Time: 2022
With a cast of Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg, it’s hard to imagine that this movie would be hated, but nonetheless, it only has a 7% Rotten Tomatoes score, with critics saying that the plot is scattered, not funny, and even disappointing. However, we loved it.
It features a Mr. Mom-type character who is a very involved father (we’re jealous of his meal prep skills) and a mother who has a career and is the main income earner for the family. It’s really interesting to see the typical roles reversed, and both the mother and father are supportive of one another. The unconventional marriage leads the mom to take a week away from their kids and give the father unaccompanied alone time in the home. But when his high school friend shows up, things are about to get funny! The movie is packed with shenanigans and funny moments as Kevin Hart enjoys his week without his family.

4. The Open House (2018)
The Open House is a thriller and mystery movie. Though critics say it’s disappointing, lacking in the build-up, and very graphic, we thought quite the opposite. The music gives the movie a lot of tension and suspense.
The premise of the film is basically that a family wants to sell their house after their father passes away, and after hosting several open houses, strange and peculiar things start to happen during the night. The Open House has a Rotten Tomato score of 7%, with many critics questioning the plot and suspense. However, with it being filled with psychological terror, chilling twists and turns, and a plot that we think leaves you on the edge of your seat, we loved The Open House.
Cast:
- Dylan Minnette
- Patricia Bethune
- Aaron Abrams
- Sharif Atkins
5. The Princess Switch (2018)
The Princess Switch is a feel-good, cozy, sing-song Christmas tree-type movie. While critics called it messy, lame, cheesy, and predictable, we think it’s wholesome, sweet, romantic, and slightly funny. The movie is centered around Stacy and Margaret, who stumble upon each other and find that they look exactly alike. They switch places and end up falling in love with each other’s beau. As the plot thickens, the girls go through many shenanigans that will make you literally laugh out loud. Even if The Princess Switch is predictable, it feels like a warm hug. It’s silly, sweet, and just a feel-good movie that we think is a pleasure to watch.
