4 Things Wrong With the U.K. in 2024

The United Kingdom has changed so much in the last 20 years. We’ve gone through countless Prime Ministers, seen a new Monarch take reign, Mr Blobby left our screens and Deal or No Deal made a short return.

But I can’t help but wonder why the world feels a bit off right now? When are we going to make Britain Great again? When are we going to put the Unite back in the United Kingdom? Here’s my take on it.

Got Milk? No!

Schools used to provide milk cartons completely free of charge to kids of all ages in primary school in the afternoons. That has since vanished! How are we supposed to train up the next generation to potentially have mandatory service if they don’t have strong bones? Bring back free school milk!

BBQ Rib Walkers

When did the epic Walkers Crisp flavour disappear? The sleek black packaging, the tangy seasoning that definitely didn’t resemble anything close to BBQ rib. Walkers have quietly phased out many flavours over the years and we think if you brought a few back perhaps peace would return? At least in this household.

Lack of Crisp Containers

Hear me out… is there a correlation between when you last felt true happiness and when Pringle’s stopped making their mini containers? Point made.

Sugar Tax

This one irks me a lot. I understand the concept behind the sugar tax. We need to see a good decline in obesity especially amongst children (I’m still vying for BBQ Rib Walkers…) but have we actually seen a decline in obesity figures since this tax has come in? Are people put off by the additional 12p they need to pay for their drink? I doubt it. Diabetics and people with sweetener allergies are up a creek without a paddle when it comes to getting a nice drink most the time though.

Final Thoughts

Tongue in cheek writing is my favourite but I’m also incredibly passionate about bringing those crisps back so if anyone from Walkers wants to get in touch with me and send me a shipping container full of them, I won’t say no.
